Kilmarnock stabbing victims to be laid to rest together at joint funeral after heartbreaking murders

A tragic Kilmarnock mum and her daughter who were knifed to death near Crosshouse Hospital are set to be laid to rest together.

The funeral for Emma Robertson Coupland and Nicole Anderson is set to take place at Riccarton Cemetery on Wednesday, February 24 at 2pm.

Friends and colleagues have been invited to pay their respects by the family who are urging mourners to wear pink and purple in memory of the tragic duo.

Emma worked with the domestic services team at Crosshouse Hospital (UGC)

Mum-of-four Emma died after being attacked by ex-husband Steven Robertson as she left her domestic services job at the hospital on February 4.

The 39-year-old was seriously injured and medics battled to save her but she was pronounced dead at the scene at around 7.45pm.

Just 20 minutes later, the knifeman then attacked his step-daughter Nicole Anderson, 24, on nearby Portland Street.

She was taken to hospital but sadly lost her life.

Tragic Nicole was due to marry fiancee Vicky King (UGC)

The 40-year-old killer fled the scene in a car but crashed into a tree on the C50 road, between the B7036 and the A76.

Emergency services raced to the scene but Robertson was pronounced dead a short time later.

Nicole’s fiancee Vicky King shared the funeral details on social media on Wednesday.

She wrote: “Hi guys so the funeral of Emma Robertson Coupland and Nicole Anderson will be held at Riccarton Cemetery on Wednesday the 24th of February at 2:00 pm.

“All who knew them are welcome to pay their final respects. You can wear pink or purple colours if you wish.”

She later invited friends and loved ones to take part in a candlelight birthday tribute for NHS worker Emma who would have turned 40 on Thursday.

Vicky added: “Was thinking for anyone who would like to do this Thursday 18th Feb 8pm light a wee candle for Emma Robertson Coupland as it is her birthday and she would have been the big 40.”

A major police investigation was launched following the tragic murders with officers appealing for anyone with dashcam footage to get in touch.

Meanwhile, a chilling rant by evil Robertson appeared on Facebook just hours before he brutally murdered Emma and Nicole.

He accused his ex wife of being a liar, a cheat and of turning his children against him.

It came as witnesses reported seeing Robertson sitting in his car outside the hospital the night before the fatal stabbings.

The Kilmarnock community has rallied around the duo’s grief-stricken loved ones with more than £25,000 raised to help them cover the cost of the funerals.

A charity single is also due to be released by the Saltcoats christian charity, Come Back to God, who plan to donate all profits to the family to ‘help them process their grief’.
