A fundraising page setup by the heartbroken family of two women tragically murdered in Kilmarnock this week has smashed its initial target.
Emma Robertson Coupland, 39, and her daughter, Nicole Anderson, 24, were killed in Kilmarnock on Thursday night by crazed knifeman Steven Robertson.
The 40-year-old stabbed his ex-wife to death outside of her work at Crosshouse Hospital around 7.45pm before going to his step-daughter's work on Portland Street and killing her 20 minutes later.
Robertson then died in a car crash as he tried to flee the scene.
The fundraiser set up by Nicole's sister-in-law, Alana, had an initial target of £1,000 to help the family pay for their funerals but the total is currently sitting at over £8,000.
Alana wrote on the page: "As you will all have read in the papers and the news we tragically lost Emma and Nicole over the weekend leaving three young girls without a mum and sister.
"This is also left the three girls to pay for not only one funeral but two. I have decided to set up a go fund me page to help try and ease the financial stress of worrying about paying for there funerals even if it’s just a pound each every little helps.
"Everyone is absolutely devastated and heartbroken over their deaths they were the most funny loving bubbly people I have ever known and never had a day where they weren’t smiling."
The tragic double murder locked down numerous areas of Kilmarnock on Thursday.
