Kilmarnock's newest pub The Standing Man all set for opening day

A new pub is making final preparations ahead of opening in Ayrshire.

The Standing Man owners will pour their first pint for punters tomorrow at 11am after guests and competition winners get a sneak preview tonight.

The Kilmarnock bar's name is a tribute to whisky giant Johnnie Walker's 'Striding Man' slogan famous across the globe.

The pub's logo – a man with a cane, top-hat and tails – also bears a striking resemblance to the renowned Johnnie Walker symbol.

The sizeable town centre boozer has been renovated on Portland Street, adjoined to the iconic B-listed former Royal Bank of Scotland building at Kilmarnock Cross.

Sky Sports and BT Sport livery adorns the outside of the venue and there is set to be a focus on sports coverage with no less than 11 televisions on the premises.
