A busy Kilmarnock road has been sealed off this evening.
The one-way system in the town centre has been blocked off by police as they deal with an ongoing incident.
Portland Street leading on to Wellington Street under the arches is closed off.
Traffic is now being diverted on to Green Street meaning that those heading up Wellington Street have to divert round to Soulis Street and towards Union Street.
An eyewitness said: “The traffic heading down the hill on the one-way system are being forced all the way round.
“It looks as though a lorry has jack-knifed coming round.
“The full road is closed off.”
