A road in Kilmarnock has been closed while police investigate an incident.
A block of flats on the corner of Mosshead Road and Broomhill Quadrant has been taped off, and a police car remains outside with officers patrolling the area.
An eyewitness at the scene said: "There is police activity round the back of the flats, I'm not sure what's going on though.
"I saw police with gloves going through bins, it looks serious.
"It's hard to tell early but I think they are looking for some sort of weapon."
The street which connects Bellfield and Shortlees remains sealed off.
