Kilmarnock restaurant could reopen under new town centre plans

A Kilmarnock restaurant could reopen under plans submitted to council bosses.

The venue that housed Indian Accent – which later became Indian Ninja – is the subject of proposals submitted to planning chiefs.

The plans for the Portland Street eaterie show proposals to retain the ground-floor restaurant but change the first floor to office accommodation.

Indian Accent went viral after unveiling an aardvark pizza on their menu shortly after opening in May 2019.

(Kilmarnock standard)

The Standard reported in February 2020 that the restaurant was being auctioned for £89,000 after it closed its doors for good in September 2019.

The application from Mr Balram Bhatia will be ruled on by council officials at a later date.
