Tommy Wright has demanded his side have a cutting edge against Motherwell.
Kilmarnock took on the Steelmen during the manager’s first game in charge, and despite losing 1-0, they were the better side for large parts of the match. And now with the added firepower of Kyle Lafferty, Wright sees no reason why his side can’t rack up a vital three points.
Speaking exclusively to the Kilmarnock Standard ahead of the game, he said: “I am hoping it’s not different in terms of how we dominated possession last time.
“We played well and got into their box plenty but just couldn’t grab a goal. With the addition of Kyle I am hoping he will give us that edge at the top end of the pitch.

“So I am looking for a similar performance to that game when we are in possession.
“We need to make sure we don’t give away a cheap goal again.
“I think we have improved since then in terms of performances, but not in results.
“We have to make sure we are doing the basics better than what we have been doing.”
Wright knows a win now heading into the final five matches in the split would be a massive psychological boost.
He said: “Hopefully we can get a boost with a win heading into the split.
“We will then have another break due to the international games before coming back to a Scottish Cup game.
“It’s important that we can pick up three points before going into the break from league action.”
Greg Kiltie is currently the only injury doubt for the game on Saturday, but Wright is confident he will be back in time for the final five league matches due to another break from league action after Saturday for an international week.
He said: “It has worked out very well. He could be back for the cup game.
“But it will depend on whether we would want to risk him for that or not.
“I am sure he will be available for the games in the split though if everything goes well.”
