Kilmarnock loan star Kyle Connell is out for the rest of the season after being stretchered off during Airdrie's dramatic play-off win over Cove Rangers.
The 19-year-old came on as a fifth minute substitute for injured team-mate Paul Paton, who left the field clutching his hamstring.
But disaster struck for the teenager himself in the 85th minute when he suffered a head knock and left the field on a stretcher after suffering a concussion.
New concussion rules this season mean players must not play for three weeks after such an injury and it has ruled the striker out of the Diamonds' play-off final ties with Morton on May 18 and 21.

Airdrie boss Ian Murray said: "With a concussion injury, I know there's a mandatory period he will have to stay away for so I'm led to believe he will be out of the final, which is a shame.
"But his health and wellbeing is far more important.
"It's a blow. In these games you want all your players there.
"But we've got guys like Dale Carrick, who actually started the game last night, and we've got Ally Roy, Eoghan Stokes, Thomas Robert, so there is still plenty there, but we are disappointed for Kyle."
Airdrie sealed their place in the final by recovering from a 90th minute goal from Rory McAllister to level through Jack McKay in the fourth minute of stoppage time to force extra time, after goals from Calum Gallagher and Mitch Megginson had the game all square at 1-1.
Gallagher won it for the Diamonds with a strike in 108 minutes to seal a crack at promotion to the Championship.
Connell scored six goals in 26 appearances for the Monklands men.
