Gus MacPherson reckons there's "no doubt" that Kilmarnock will win the cinch Championship.
The Rugby Park legend, who won the Scottish Cup with the club in 1997, says the squad they have built will have no problems getting promoted back to the Premiership.
He watched his Morton side lose to Tommy Wright's men for the third time this season – one on penalties in the Premier Sports Cup – and he is confident that they'll restore their top-flight status.
MacPherson said: "Oh, they'll win the league. No doubt about that.
"With the resources they have, the budget, and the squad that they've built, they will win the league no problem."
MacPherson was left frustrated as Killie ran out 2-0 winners at Cappielow thanks to goals from Blair Alston and Oli Shaw in the first 45.
He said: "We were happy with how we started the game, but it's the oldest cliché in the book, goals change games.
"They did, especially the second one just before half-time it just totally changed the dynamic of the match. Kilmarnock slowed it down, they managed the game very well in the second half."
