Kilmarnock residents are on high alert after a masked gang tried to break into homes earlier this morning.
People in balaclavas were spotted trying to enter properties on the John Walker Estate in the dead of night.
Police have confirmed that three individuals wearing the masks were found trying doors on Talisker Avenue at around 3am earlier this morning.
Reports suggest that the individuals left the estate via Kilmaurs Road shortly afterwards.
Police are appealing for anyone with information regarding the trio’s movements to get in touch via the non-emergency 101 number.
