Kilmarnock detectives launch investigation after garage is set on fire

A police investigation has launched after a domestic garage was set on fire late last night.

Detectives are appealing for information after the structure was torched in Kilmarnock at around 11.10pm on Barbadoes Road.

The blaze was extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Services and there were no injuries as a result.

Cops are now treating the incident as wilful fire-raising.

Detective Constable Keith Hyndes, of Kilmarnock CID, said: “We are appealing to members of the public who may have any information relating to this deliberate fire.

“Although this happened late at night, I would ask if anyone noticed anything suspicious in the area or has any dashcam footage that could assist with our investigation, to get in contact officers.”

Police can be contacted on 101 quoting incident number 4193 of Sunday, 19 April, 2020.
