Tommy Wright says his players' heads won't drop despite facing an uphill battle to avoid the dreaded Premiership play-offs.
Kilmarnock need to beat Hamilton Accies on Sunday and rely on Motherwell seeing off Ross County to finish in 10th and avoid a two-legged tie against Dundee or Raith Rovers.
The Ayrshire side were leading 2-0 and 3-2 against St Mirren tonight but the match ended 3-3 as Killie conceded twice straight after scoring.
Despite the defence falling asleep, Wright reckons the players have what it takes to drag themselves out of the relegation fight.
He said: “I am feeling mixed emotions after that, we did more than enough to win the game.
“We could have won it with the last kick of the ball but the keeper made a great save.

“We created more chances, had more shots on target but we showed real naivety to concede twice after we’d just scored.
“That’s disappointing, but going forward we looked a real threat all night, and we should have won the game.
“But as a team we played a part in that due to those two restarts from us scoring."
He added: “The word negativity is not something I’ve used since I came to the club, so that’s not a problem.
“If you look at how we played tonight, we could have scored more goals.
“The problem was what it’s been all season, we haven’t kept enough clean sheets.
“That is as a team, it’s not just to goalkeeper and back four, that has been a problem.
“But as I have said we looked good going forward, and that’s good to have going into the last game when we still have a chance of staying up.
“We knew it wouldn’t be decided tonight, we knew we’d need a favour somewhere, but we need to take care of business at Hamilton.
“If we win that game and Motherwell win we will stay up, but if not I believe the way we are playing we can go into the play-off with a lot of confidence.
“Confidence hasn’t been a problem, it never has.
“The players are a good group, they have had a tough season, but since I came in the quality of football has deserved more points."
