Tommy Wright admits winning the SPFL Trust Trophy is an attractive prospect.
The competition is written off by a lot of people – but Kilmarnock boss Wright has every intention of adding it to the Rugby Park trophy cabinet.
His side take on Falkirk in the second round today as they take a break from league duty.
Ahead of the match, he said: “I see it as an attraction as it gives us an opportunity to win a trophy.
“This weekend is important as we lost our last game so we want to get back to winning ways.
“You always want to win the next game and we want to do well in all the competitions we enter.
“The main aim is promotion but we want good cup runs and winning is a good habit to get into.”
New striker Oli Shaw is likely to make his debut against the Bairns after joining from Ross County and Wright was full of praise for the new No 9.
He said: “What will Oli bring? Hopefully goals.
“He is someone who I have always admired and I tried to get him twice when he was at Hibs, once on loan and once when he was leaving there.

“He’s someone who is desperate to get a run of games; his goal ratio to minutes on the pitch is quite good.
“He is ultimately someone who can give us that extra bit of quality at the top end of the pitch.
“Hopefully he will have a good time here and do well. Am I surprised to get him? Yes and no.
“Yes because I am surprised he hasn’t kicked on in terms of the potential he has.
“He doesn’t seem to, for whatever reason, get a run of games.
“But I’m not surprised a club the size of this can attract someone of his quality.
“I’m really pleased to get him in and I think he will do well here.
“I think Oli has good movement, he’s a good finisher with his right or left foot.
“He can run in behind as well and all round I think he is a very good No 9 and someone that knows where the back of the net is.
“He is hungry to play games but he is a young man so I don’t think he has a lot to prove to people.
“He didn’t get as many opportunities as he would have liked at his last few clubs but he will get them here.
“I am confident he will do well. He’s in the squad and he has trained well over the last few days.”
