Kilmarnock boss McInnes reports Hibs fan over 'comment that shouldn't be made'

Derek McInnes has revealed he reported a Hibernian supporter after a "comment that shouldn't be made inside a football ground".

The Kilmarnock boss was quizzed on a confrontation with a fan after the 1-0 loss at Easter Road.

And on Sky Sports, McInnes confirmed he had reported the supporter over a remark in the exchange.

Asked for any comment on the incident, he said: "Nothing to say on the record but I don't think I'll be on his Christmas list anyway.

"But there was a comment made that shouldn't be made inside a football ground and I reported him."

On the match, McInnes was disappointed not to take anything from the trip to the capital as he conceded a moment of brilliance from Martin Boyle to tee up Josh Campbell settled the day.

“We should have done better in dealing with the initial move when Boyle got on the half turn," said McInnes.

“I saw when he was rested against St Mirren, I thought they should have let him run riot against Stevie’s (Robinson) team and left him on the bench against us.

“He’s the one that makes the difference and his part in the goal was decisive for them.

“The game was decided by a big moment with Boyle at the heart of it.

“But we are disappointed we didn’t manage to take anything from a game I felt we could have.

“We were just looking for those moments of quality.”
