Kilmarnock boss Angelo Alessio can't wait to hear 'noise and passion' of fans

Angelo Alessio admits he can't wait to hear the Rugby Park stands rocking.

The Italian will take charge of his first game at the home of Kilmarnock on Thursday when they do battle with Connah's Quay Nomads in Europa League qualifying.

And he says it will be great to finally get into the Rugby Park dugout.

He said: "I can't wait for tomorrow because it's my first home game and it's a real chance to say hello to all the fans.

"For me it's a great opportunity and I think it will be a great atmosphere, I want to listen to the noise and passion of my fans because I know the supporters of Killie are very loud.

Alessio insists that Killie will not get complacent ahead of the second-leg despite taking a 2-1 away win into the game.

He said: "I think it's important to have the same attitude and approach to the game as we would [if we weren't winning].

"We have a great respect for Connah's Quay Nomads, so we know it will be tough and they could change their system.

"These players could never be complacent and we have to complete the job tomorrow."

He added: "I think at this stage of the season our training time is precious.

"This week we have been training a lot and I expect a good performance tomorrow.

"I want the performance to stay up and we will have to play better than last week.

"We can play good football and I want to see this, the players will improve as the games go on."
