Kilmarnock 4 Dundee United 0 as Alex Dyer's men get first win of the season

Kilmarnock bagged their first win of the season after easing past Dundee United this afternoon.

A double from Nicke Kabamba along with goals from Eamonn Brophy and Rory McKenzie meant Alex Dyer's men picked up all three points.

Minutes before Killie took the lead, the home side were dealt a huge blow with Stuart Findlay taken off injured with Clevid Dikamona replacing the defender.

Kabamba broke the deadlock for the home side on the half-hour mark when he headed down a cross past the helpless Benjamin Siegrist.

A minute into injury time in the first half and Brophy doubled Killie's lead after latching on to a flick-on from Greg Kiltie.

Brophy's low shot cruised past Siegrist before the referee called time on the first half.

After opening his account for the season, Brophy was hungry for more in the second half.

The striker went close in 70 minutes but his shot fell right into the arms of the United stopper before he was subbed for Rory McKenzie five minutes later.

Mark Connolly's return to Rugby Park was a game to forget after he was robbed by Kambamba in 78 minutes with only the keeper to beat.

The striker took his time and rounded the keeper to make it three for Killie on the day but the best was saved for last.

Greg Kiltie collected a floated ball on the right side, which was cut back to the incoming Rory McKenzie who looped an effortless shot over Siegrist.

As well as securing three vital points, the game also earned Killie their first clean sheet of the season.
