Killing Eve star Sandra Oh says show takes dive into darkness in series two

Sandra Oh has revealed Killing Eve will get even “darker” when it returns for a second series.

The Canadian actress said her character, MI5 agent Eve Polastri, will be “pushed to the limit”.

She was speaking at the series two premiere in Los Angeles, where she posed on the red carpet with co-star Jodie Comer, who plays assassin Villanelle.

“For me, for Eve, it’s definitely about going darker, really going darker, and being even more pushed to the limit,” Oh said.

“It’s almost like season one, she’s like, ‘There’s some kind of rabbit hole, what is that?’. She plunges into it in season two.”

Oh, who won a Golden Globe for her role, added: “For me as an actor, that’s just what you want to explore — the limits of where you can go.”

Fiona Shaw, who plays Carolyn Martens, head of the Russia section at MI6, also attended the premiere with her wife Sonali Deraniyagala.

Killing Eve will return to UK screens later this year.
