Killing Eve season three: Phoebe Waller-Bridge to be 'murdered' by Villanelle in upcoming series

Phoebe Waller-Bridge has revealed that she intends to write herself into the third season of her series Killing Eve, but only to be murdered by Jodie Comer’s ruthless assassin Villanelle.

Speaking to The Mirror, the ludicrously busy actress and writer explained that she plans to die at the hand of her own creation when the BBC smash returns next year. “I was like, I am going to write myself a part so that I can be murdered by Jodie,” she joked.

Waller-Bridge also told the newspaper that she had originally thought about starring in Killing Eve herself, as either Villanelle or her pursuer Eve Polastri (played by Sandra Oh), but quickly thought better of it.

“I just had a really strong instinct that there should be this age gap because I just felt like it was something I hadn’t seen,” she explained. “I’m not a 25-year-old Jodie Comer – I mean, let’s be frank. And I don’t know if I could have scaled a wall quite like she could have done, and I’m not in my early forties either.”

Waller-Bridge is currently preparing for the final run of her one-woman stage show Fleabag, which inspired the critically adored BBC series, as well as scripting Bond 25.
