Killers who murdered Owen Hassan outside his mum's pub snared by analysis of how they walked

Two killers who murdered a man outside his mum's pub were caught using high-tech analysis of how they walked.

Craig Corrall, 39, and , 30, were caged today for more than over the brutal killing of Owen Hassan.

The 30-year-old dad was stabbed in the heart outside the Old Stag boozer in the Pollockshaws area of the city in November 2018.

Owen's death was captured on however due to the poor quality of the footage cops were unable to identify Corrall and Callaghan.

In order to identify the thugs cops used (FGA) to help snare the men.

Gait analysis is a detailed study of the movement and positioning of the way an individual walks through the various stages of a walking cycles.

David Green, Procurator Fiscal for Homicide and Major Crime, said: " and David Callaghan's conviction for the brutal murder of Owen Hassan was a result of excellent investigative work using modern techniques and technology to identify them.

"This was a violent premeditated attack and these men were well aware of the consequences of their actions.

"Knife crime has a devastating effect and the unprovoked murder of is another example of that.

"The use of as weapons is completely unacceptable, leading inevitably to needless deaths and ruined lives."

The thugs were jailed for life at the  High Court in Glasgow  after they were convicted of murder.

Jurors heard at a trial how raging  Corrall  was “prepared to do 20 years” after discovering Mr Hassan had been seeing his ex-lover.

He was instead locked up for at least 20 years and six months while  Callaghan  was sentenced to 20 years.

Lord Woolman told the pair the attack was “pre-mediated and vicious”.
