New South Wales Police have revealed the identity of a man they are pursuing after a "brutal" murder at Sydney's west on Sunday.
George Nassif, 46, was shot dead on the corner of George and Lachlan streets in Warwick Farm in what police believe was a targeted attack.
The man police want to speak to — Marko Krivosic — has a number of associates in the Liverpool area, according to authorities.
"We've visited numerous addresses in terms of trying to locate him and speak to him, we believe that he's aware that we want to speak to him," Acting Superintendent Paul Albury said.
Police would not reveal the connection between the man and Mr Nassif, but said they will not stop until they find him.
"The shooting itself was a callous, brutal crime and police are resolute to obviously investigate this matter," he said.
"The family is enormously distressed over the passing of Mr Nassif, and we're seeking to have those [involved] brought before the courts as soon as possible."
Mr Krivosic is described as being about 170 centimetres tall with a solid build and of Middle Eastern-Mediterranean appearance.
The shooters remain on the run.
The two men offered people in nearby apartments handfuls of cash to hide them.
Mr Nassif and his girlfriend were visiting a woman in the apartment when the pair, dressed in hoodies, knocked on the door and opened fire.
The building was placed in lockdown for several hours.
Mr Nassif's family remembered him as someone who would do anything for anyone.
"He's got the biggest heart," girlfriend Taylah said.
"I can't believe they have done this."
