The convicted murderer who tackled the London Bridge terrorist has had to move prisons after receiving death threats.
James Ford was initially hailed as a 'hero' after he was identified among the group who confronted killer Usman Khan as they tried to halt his murderous rampage after he had knifed two people at Fishmongers' Hall.
The 42-year-old, who was on day release from his life sentence to attend a rehabilitation conference at the venue, had rushed to help the pair fatally knifed in Khan's attack before joining the group that chased the terrorist onto the bridge.
According to the Sun , Ford has had to be shifted from Standford Hill open prison to a closed prison.
It is not clear where the threats came from.
A prison source told the newspaper the move was temporary and for Ford's own safety: ''Management decided it was best to move him because of the threats - some were saying he should have died because of what he did.
"It was thought best for his own protection he should switch prisons."

Ford had been present at the hall when Khan launched the attack, killing Cambridge graduates Jack Merritt, 25, and Saskia Jones, 23, and putting another three people in hospital.
Footage emerged of the killer tackling the terrorist alongside the heroic group who were seen taking on the terrorist armed with a pole and fire extinguisher during the tragic incident last month.
Ford's father told media he had been receiving counselling over Saskia's death following the attack.
He was jailed for life in 2004 for the murder of 21-year-old Amanda Champion, who was found strangled with her throat cut in Ashford, Kent, in July 2003.
Amanda's aunt Angela Cox was angered by the characterisation of Ford as a hero after reports of his efforts to fight off Khan before police shot the terrorist dead appeared on TV.
She said her murdered niece had the mental age of a 15-year-old.
Speaking to the Daily Mail , she said: "He is not a hero - he is a murderer out on day release, which us as a family didn't know anything about.
"He murdered a disabled girl. He is not a hero, absolutely not."
The Ministry of Justice declined to comment on reports Ford had shifted prisons.
