Adam Ellison was assaulted in Market Place in Prescot in the early hours of November 4, 2017 after becoming involved in an altercation with two males onboard a scrambler bike. Adam was stabbed in the neck with an unknown weapon causing him to fall to the ground.

He was taken to hospital but was pronounced dead shortly after 2am. Since that day, several lines of enquiry have been carried out as part of an ongoing investigation and arrests have been made but, to date, nobody has been charged.

Fiona McNeill, prosecuting, described how officers then spoke to the victim, who confirmed that he had visited Roberts' flat on Boardman Lane in St Helens several times. The pervert would sit next to him on the sofa and put his arm around him, then slap him on the bottom when he stood up and had also kissed him on the lips and offered to buy him condoms.

Doctors identified a brain aneurysm - a type of bulge in the artery wall - as to blame, having resulted in a fatal haemorrhage. Her family were unaware of any symptoms prior to her death, and Joanne appeared fit and healthy, walking the dog three times a day and on no medication.

Daughter Neve said: "She put everyone else before herself, and she had a heart of gold, and for her funeral we took donations for Mind because she tried to help a lot of people with mental health, she’s done a lot for them. Read the full story here.
