Killer Cole Jarvis' dog was discovered wandering the town, reportedly lost and appearing to have blood dripping from its mouth.
The pooch, who is known as Scoop, was found on November 18.
His Hull owner, Cole Jarvis, was locked up for life on November 12 after being convicted of murdering teenager Connor Lyons, aged 17, Hull Live reports.
Hull Crown Court heard how Jarvis, 22, had strangled on and off pal Connor and deposited his dead or dying body in the River Hull in January 2021.
He was told that he would serve a minimum of 24 years behind bars before being considered for release.

Members of the public appealed for the owners after finding Snoop with blood dripping from his mouth and a cut to his back leg, although its unclear where the wounds were from.
Snoop was later picked up by the dog's current owners, believed to be Jarvis' family.
It comes after Hull Live reported how Jarvis' fiancée caused fury when she posted on social media following his sentencing referencing lyrics from singer Jesy Nelson's single, 'Boyz'.
The woman, who is engaged to the killer, referenced the song which sings about 'liking bad boys' in a post on her Facebook profile, writing: "The hold that you got on me should be criminal".
She had also posted in September wishing Jarvis a 'happy birthday', promising to wait for his release.
Jarvis was found guilty in September of murdering Connor Lyons, and jailed on November 12 to a life sentence with a minimum of 24 years and 73 days.
