Kilkenny man, 60, killed in tragic car accident in New Jersey

An Irish man has died after a fatal single car crash in the US on Wednesday.

Denis Murphy, 60, died when he "failed to negotiate the exit ramp" in Clinton, New Jersey in an early morning collision.

Mr Murphy was a long-time Yonkers, New York resident but was originally from Co Kilkenny - the Irish Central reports.

The 60-year-old crashed his Toyota shortly after 9am and was rushed to St Mary's Hospital nearby where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

The busy New Jersey route was closed for over five hours as forensic officers assessed the scene.
