Kilkenny hurling legend Aidan Fogarty set to join RTE's Dancing with the Stars

Kilkenny hurling legend Aidan Fogarty will be like the Cat who got the cream when he lines out on Dancing With The Stars.

The five-time All-Ireland winner has signed up to appear on season four of the hit RTE show.

The 37-year-old will swap the black and amber for fake tan and sequins and hopes his GAA fan base will help him land another title.

Throughout his career Fogarty made 38 championship appearances. He announced his retirement from inter-county hurling in 2014.

A show insider told the Irish Mirror he might not just be looking to win but also for love.

They added: “Aidan is a real character and a brilliant addition to the line-up.

“He is a hard worker but is definitely a better hurler than a dancer. He is single and good craic and he is already the life and soul of the cast.

“But just because he is a bit of a slouch on the dance floor he is a fierce competitor and he will give it everything to win.”

As exclusively revealed in the Irish Mirror, Aidan will join Michael Carruth, Brian Dowling, Mary Kennedy and Lottie Ryan.

Ireland AM star Glenda Gilson, Fair City’s Ryan Andrews and Love Islander Yewande Biala will also take part in the show.

While B*witched singer Sinead O’Carroll and beauty queen Grainne Gallanagh will complete this season’s cast.

Hosts Jennifer Zamparelli and Westlife’s Nicky Byrne will both be returning as presenters while Julian Benson, Brian Redmond and Loraine Barry reunite to judge the stars.

DWTS 2020 is set to return on January 5 at 6.30pm on RTE One and each episode will run for two hours.

The spin-off show Can’t Stop Dancing was axed this season.
