Kilkenny Design opens new store in Nutgrove Shopping Centre

Kilkenny Design has opened in Nutgrove Shopping Centre in Rathfarnham.

Much like its stores in locations like Dublin city centre and Swords Pavilions, Kilkenny Design in Nutgrove Shopping Centre is selling a range of ornaments, jewellery pieces and crafts form Irish designers such as Tipperary Crystal, Guess and Cluse.

The family owned retailer has 17 other stores across the country and has been in business for almost 60 years now, having started as Kilkenny Design Workshops in 1963.

The new store in Nutgrove is stocking a curated collection of Irish brands and makers including a number of makers and designers from the Dublin region such as Alan Ardiff, Green Angel and Celtic Candles.

Some of the items customers can expect to find in the new shop include things like homewares, wellness products, handmade soaps, jewellery and art.

CEO of Kilkenny Design Evelyn Moynihan celebrated the new store's opening, explaining the importance of supporting homegrown brands after a tough two years for Irish retail.

She said: "As founders of the Champion Green initiative, supporting local wherever possible is vital to ensure our communities and town centres remain vibrant in the months and years ahead.

"We look forward to building strong relationships within the community and surrounding areas of Rathfarnham, creating jobs in the locality, and showcasing the very best of Irish makers and designers."

Meanwhile, Nutgrove Shopping Centre General Manager Steven Stocks said: "We are delighted to welcome Kilkenny Design to the Nutgrove Shopping Centre family, a brand that is a champion of Irish design and truly compliments our first-class retail mix.

"We are really looking forward to working alongside the team at Kilkenny Design in what will be a real treat for our customers who love both local and Irish brands."
