Irish shoppers are already gearing up for the festive season as a major retailer opened its Christmas shop a month early due to customer demand.
Kilkenny Design announced on Wednesday it would be selling Christmas decorations, including wreaths, baubles, and snow globes, jewellery and other products online and in selected stores nationwide.
They revealed customers were seeking a “sprinkle of joy” after months of Covid-19 gloom.
A spokesperson revealed this year's range "is a throwback to Christmas’ past where traditional surroundings evoke memories of family gatherings."
It promises "ruby red baubles, luxurious garlands and wreaths with deep greens and berries, highlighted with subtle tones of champagne create the perfect setting for new traditions."

Shoppers can also expect exciting new additions to the popular range including a calming green sanctuary theme, antique metal work and timeless glass.
A survey conducted by the retailer found that 60% of us intend to start their Christmas shopping earlier than usual while 30% have started shopping for gifts already.
Melissa O’Gorman, Buying Director for Kilkenny Design says; “We are delighted to be able to open our Christmas shop earlier this year to give our customers time to prepare well in advance for the Christmas season.
"We noticed shoppers were already searching for the festive range, we all deserve a sprinkle of joy after the last few months!"
To celebrate the launch, from now until the 27th of September shoppers will receive €15 off when they spend €75 or more.
