Kildare footballer Kevin Feely admits the county has not lived up to its potential in recent seasons – but believes they can reach their peak under new manager Jack O’Connor.
Feely played professional soccer in Ireland and England before he returned home to play football with his native Kildare in 2015.
And according to the former International Rules player, Kildare need to prove they can be ranked among the country’s elite teams once more after a “wasted” season in 2019.
“There has always been potential in this generation of Kildare players,“ Feely told The Sideline View podcast.
“Ultimately it’s your results that reflect how good you are and we have never made it past the last eight.
“We know it’s in us, we just have to find a way to get it out.”
