Kildare magician Aidan McCann, 9, impresses US chat show host Ellen DeGeneres with his 'incredible' tricks

Young magician Aidan McCann joined US TV host Ellen DeGeneres to show off some his tricks during his visit to Los Angeles.

The Kildare schoolboy, 9, reached the semi-final of Ireland's Got Talent earlier this year, and has been practising magic for four years.

And he immediately impressed US viewers with his "incredible" tricks, correctly guessing which card chat show veteran Ellen drew from the deck.

Kildare school boy Aidan McCann hopes to win over Ireland's Got Talent judges with magic act

Aidan spoke about his visit Stateside ahead of appearing on the show, where he got to visit the world-famous Hollywood sign and Walk of Fame.

Ellen also surprised the Maynooth youngster with a video message from his idol, fellow magician Shin Lim, inviting Aidan to be a special guest in his magic show in Las Vegas.
