Kildare legend Johnny Doyle makes inter-county return with three-point haul for county's junior side

Johnny Doyle played for Kildare for 14 years after making his debut at the turn of the millennium, and he's now back five years after his retirement.

At the tender age of just 41, the legendary forward came off the bench to play for the Kildare Junior Footballers in their 1-18 to 1-09 win over Longford last night.

Not only did he make an appearance, he also chipped in with three points - including one brilliant point from play - as they booked a Leinster final place at St. Conleth's Park.

The Allenwood man won a Leinster crown is debut season, but only added a Division 2 league medal in 2012 to that haul.

The potent forward also picked up an All-Star in 2010 for his exploits that saw Kildare reach an All-Ireland semi-final.
