A teenage boy has been rushed to hospital after being stabbed near a busy high street in north London.

The 15-year-old was later arrested for possession of an offensive weapon following the attack in Kilburn, Brent.

Metropolitan Police officers and London Ambulance Service paramedics attended Brondesbury Villas near Kilburn High Road and found the boy wounded.

He was taken to hospital for further treatment where his injuries were found not to be life-changing or life-threatening.

In a statement, Scotland Yard said their enquiries into the incident at around 5.15pm on Tuesday are ongoing.

A spokesman for the force said: "If you have any information that could help police please contact 101 quoting CAD5753/07OCT.”

The LAS said: “We were called at 5.17pm on Tuesday, October 7 to reports of a stabbing in Brondesbury Villas, NW6.

“We sent resources including ambulance crews, paramedics in response cars and an incident response officer. We treated a teenager at the scene and took him to a London major trauma centre.”
