Kiko Casilla update from The FA after racism charge

Kiko Casilla has been granted an extension until November 27 to respond to his recent charge from The Football Association.

The FA alleges the Leeds United goalkeeper used abusive and/or insulting words towards Jonathan Leko during the match with Charlton Athletic on September 28.

Casilla denies all the allegations, which suggest the Spaniard used words which references race, colour and/or ethnicity.

After being formally charged on November 4, Casilla was initially given until November 12 to officially respond.

However, today that has been reviewed and the stopper will have an extra 15 days to lodge a response to the charge.

It is understood an application was made to the chairman of The FA’s judicial panel and the extension was granted as a result.

Casilla continues to be available for selection while the disciplinary process plays out.
