Kiko Casilla shares behind-the-scenes footage as goalkeeper returns to Leeds United training

The Leeds United squad returned to Thorp Arch this week for their first training sessions since the Championship was suspended amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The Whites' promotion push has been on hold since a 2-0 win at home to Huddersfield Town on March 7 consolidated their place at the top of the table, but recent developments has seen hopes that the campaign will soon get back underway increase.

Marcelo Bielsa's men have now had a full week of training in the books, albeit in controlled circumstances, with players only permitted to work in groups of five.

The club released footage of these somewhat unusual training sessions, with what looks to be Bielsa's first-choice outfield players working together in two groups of five, while goalkeeper Ilan Meslier was also being put through his paces by goalkeeping coach Marcos Abad.

Meslier is set to keep his place in the Leeds starting XI when the action does return, with Kiko Casilla only two matches into his eight-match suspension handed his way after he was found guilty of racial abuse.

Despite the Spaniard unable to play a part in the majority of Leeds' run-in, plus question marks surrounding his long-term future with the club, he reported back for training on Monday morning and has been working with his fellow goalkeepers.

The former Real Madrid stopper shared three short clips on his Instagram page of him being put through his paces as he underwent a series of drills with Abad at Thorp Arch.

'We are back to work!', he captioned the videos in his first post since he released a statement following his suspension. A host of his teammates including Jack Harrison, Gaetano Berardi, Stuart Dallas and Gjanni Alioski liked the post.

Should the season follow the original schedule if or when it resumes, he would be available to face Barnsley, Derby County and Charlton Athletic in the final three matches of the season.
