Kieran Trippier's response after Pickford tried to embarrass Newcastle star in front of Beckham

Kieran Trippier has had the chance to catch up with idol David Beckham - only the reunion did not completely go to plan for the Newcastle United star.

Beckham visited the England camp in Qatar a few days before the Three Lions' World Cup quarter-final defeat against France on Saturday night. For Trippier, in particular, it will have been a special moment as the Magpies defender idolised Beckham growing up.

Trippier used to spend hours watching the former England captain's free-kicks on YouTube so you can see why the 'Bury Beckham' was starstruck when he first met the former Manchester United and Real Madrid superstar a few years ago.

Trippier had the chance to briefly catch up with Beckham once again after training last week and get a photograph taken with his hero alongside England team-mates Jordan Pickford and John Stones in a moment captured on the Three Lions' YouTube channel. After posing for a group shot pitchside, Pickford asked England photographer Eddie Keogh if he 'got Tripps' bunion in?' right in front of Beckham after the 31-year-old had taken off his boots.

"Why did you have to say that?" Trippier repeated to Pickford, who is one of his closest friends in camp. "Rather have my feet than those!"

Beckham confirmed he had 'never seen it' before Trippier told his hero that he had been 'getting it every day'. Trippier has previously spoken about how he will need surgery on his left foot after he retires because not all of his toes are straight.
