Kieran Trippier's cheeky response after Gabriel Agbonlahor's Newcastle United dressing room dig

Kieran Trippier has sent a subtle response after Gabriel Agbonlahor slammed the Newcastle United defender for playing to the cameras with his 'silly' decision to travel with his team-mates for the victory at Brentford. The England international was also at St James' Park to witness the Magpies' 2-1 win over Brighton & Hove Albion.

Goals from Ryan Fraser and Fabian Schar proved to be the different between the two sides as the Magpies recorded yet another impressive result. It was a result that stretched Newcastle's unbeaten run to eight matches and moved them seven points clear of the relegation zone.

In the aftermath of the win, Trippier posted an image of him celebrating with the squad in the dressing room despite not being involved. This was similar to last weekend's game at the Brentford Community Stadium, where he was pictured leaving the ground on crutches.

A foot injury which required surgery is expected to rule Trippier out for at least two months, although Eddie Howe is confident the right-back will play again this season. However, that has not stopped the former Tottenham full-back from continuing to support his team-mates despite requiring a moon boot on his left foot.

After Agbonlahor seemed to take aim at Trippier for his actions, the 31-year-old posted an image on his Instagram story of him enjoying the moment with his team-mates. A small picture was also included, where he used the caption: "Might be in trouble for being in this pic."

Agbonlahor claimed that it was 'strange' for Trippier to go all the way down to London and support the Magpies, rather than watch the game from afar. He also stated that he should've stayed at home to 'rest up'. But Trippier seemingly wasn't having any of that with his subtle message on his social media account.
