Max Aarons will not be joining Tottenham Hotspur this summer to replace Kieran Trippier.
The 19-year-old was one of the top performers for the Championship winners last season and had been linked to Spurs during the January transfer window.
After agreeing a five year deal to stay at the Canaries he will not be going anywhere this summer despite an opening in Maurico Pochettino's squad.
On the same day that Atletico Madrid signed Trippier from Spurs, the Hammersmith-born teenager put pen to paper on a contract to commit himself to Daniel Farke and his plans for the Premier League.
Had the two sides failed to agree terms, Tottenham were expected to make a move for the youngster.
Instead, Pochettino is likely to turn to Kyle Walker-Peters or Juan Foyth to step up and play a bigger role in the first-team at right-back this season with Serge Aurier the one established senior player in the position.
Aarons was named the English Football League's Young Player of the Seaon in April and also appeared in the Championship team of the season.
He scored two goals and bagged six assists for the Canaries as they clinched the title to return to the Premier League.
"Delighted to sign a new contract with the club," said Aarons in a message posted to Norwich's official social media channels.
"Looking forward to seeing you all in the Premier League next season. Thank you for your support."
