Kieran Trippier issues Man United transfer message to England team-mates amid Arsenal links

Kieran Trippier has told his England team-mates that he wants to move to Manchester United, according to reports.

Trippier has been linked with a move to Arsenal in recent days, with Marca in Spain saying that Hector Bellerin could be used in a possible swap deal for the Atletico Madrid defender.

However, according to the Mirror, United are after the former Tottenham right-back as they look to provide competition for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, and they believe an offer between £15million and £20m will be enough to convince the newly-crowned La Liga champions to sell.

The report also claims the 30-year-old has told some of his England team-mates that he prefers a move to Old Trafford.

Trippier is from Greater Manchester and the opportunity to represent Man United would be too difficult to turn down for the defender.

Arsenal are reportedly looking at other right-backs with Bellerin keen on leaving the north London club this summer, football.london understands.

The Spaniard could move to La Liga side Real Betis, but any deal will be 'difficult, but not impossible', due to the club's financial difficulties.

Bellerin has just over two years remaining on his current contract at the Emirates Stadium and wants to end his association with the Gunners after spending more than 10 years in the capital.

Trippier could be an option for Mikel Arteta, but with Manchester United able to offer Champions League football next season, as well as having more financial power, luring him to the Emirates could be a very difficult job for the club.

As well as this, Trippier's previous affiliation with north London rivals Tottenham could have a huge impact on the full-backs final decision.
