Kieran Tierney transfer tease as Arsenal director details 'aggressive' signing strategy

Confident Josh Kroenke has revealed Arsenal are edging closer to announcing new signings.

The Gunners director, who is the son of owner Stan, has delivered a bullish transfer message to Emirates supporters.

Kieran Tierney remains Unai Emery's top target but a deal for the Celtic star has yet to be agreed after the Hoops rejected a £25million bid due to the way the deal was structured.

Arsenal are desperate to land the Scotland left-back but Neil Lennon delivered an emphatic message on Tuesday and insists the Hoops will not blink first during negotiations over Tierney's future.

It's been a summer of waiting for the North London club as they also target deals for Crystal Palace's Wilfried Zaha and St Etienne defender William Saliba.

But Kroenke Jr has promised supporters of the Premier League giants that good new could be coming their way.

He told Gunners' official website : "I would say ‘be excited’.

"There are a few things that I know our group are working on, and a few things we hopefully have on the doorstep.

"Nothing is ever a done deal until it’s a done deal, obviously, but we know we have key areas we want to address in our squad, both now and in the future.

"Our entire football operations staff have a great grasp on that and I’ve encouraged them to be as aggressive as possible."

Kroenke insists his side's difficult end to last season hasn't led to a change of strategy in their quest to catapult Arsenal back among the top teams in the Premier League.

He added: "Our ambitions are silverware. Silverware and trophies.

"I think anything short of that is not a success. There are certain things that you have to do to lay foundations to achieve those goals, and I think we’ve done that over the past 12 to 14 months.

"From our coaching staff to our management, there have been significant changes that have gone on and I’m really excited to let those foundations continue to grow and take shape to build a successful future for Arsenal."
