Kieran Tierney still remembers Celtic roots as Arsenal star shows he is captain material in uncut footage

Kieran Tierney's reputation continues to grow in his second year in the Premier League with Arsenal.

After an injury-riddled start to his Gunners career following his £25million move from Celtic in the summer of 2019, he ended his debut season on a high lifting the FA Cup.

And that momentum has carried over into this current campaign as he has quickly become an Arsenal fan favourite.

Tierney's first-class work rate and passion are something they haven't seen in a long while and it's been a breath of fresh air for the Londoners.

But he also has the quality to match as he's contributing consistently at both ends of the park.

The defensive side of the game has always been his bread and butter, but Tierney is now showing he has an end product in the final third.

The North London derby displayed every facet of his game as Arsenal came from behind to beat Spurs 2-1 at the weekend.

Tierney played a huge part in the equaliser as he effortlessly blew past Matt Doherty with his patented drop of the shoulder to set up Martin Odegaard, before Alexandre Lacazette sealed the win from the penalty spot.

But it was his leadership qualities that were the biggest reason Arsenal were able to mount a comeback.

And supporters were given a behind-the-scenes look as Tierney was given an open mic during the match.

There was nothing the home side could have done about falling behind to a Erik Lamela rabona, but Tierney kept communicating with his backline and encouraging his team-mates despite falling behind.

Arsenal fans reckon this proves he is captain material in the future and, although his storied spell at Celtic Park seems a long time ago now, he continues to remember his roots.

At full time, he rolled down his socks revealing a Celtic-themed shin pad on his right leg.
