Kieran Tierney snubs designer gear as grounded Arsenal star opts for Tesco carrier bag

When English Premier League footballers arrive at games they normally have thousands of pounds worth of designer gear on them.

Whether that's headphones, watches or additional bling, they normally always have an expensive wash bag with them as well.

Former Aberdeen star James Maddison even turned up for a game once with a Louis Vitton back pack worth £6.5k.

But Arsenal left-back Kieran Tierney is old school in his approach and arrived at Bramall Lane for his side's FA Cup tie against Sheffield United with no frills.

His old Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers once lambasted youth players for the way they strut around with their expensive wares and it's clearly something Tierney heeded.

The 23-year-old is well-known for being down to earth and regularly goes to watch his pals play in a pub team when he's back up in Scotland.

And he continued that down to earth mantra by turning up for Sunday's game with his essentials in a Tesco carrier bag.

Arsenal fans loved it as well with many praising him for remaining humble and @AB140992 said: “Look at Tierney with his Tesco bag. Love this boy, future Arsenal captain.”

@MagicMes added: “Tierney with the Tesco bag. I love that kid.”
