Kieran Tierney shines in Scotland player ratings but two stars have an off night against Israel

Struggling Scotland couldn't find the crucial second goal against Israel as their World Cup dreams were dealt a blow.

Steve Clarke 's team were facing off against a familar foe as they met Israel for the sixth time since 2018.

However, despite the familiarity they fell behind in the first half as David Marshall flapped at Dor Peretz's long range effort.

Che Adams slid a pass to Ryan Fraser who took the ball on the edge of the box and drove a low shot into the bottom corner.

It deals a massive early blow to Scotland's hopes of reaching at Qatar 2022 with Austria and Denmark both picking up wins in Group F.

Here's how Record Sport rated the Scotland players.

Attacker collected his 16th cap and darted into spaces around Adams. Just too heavy with clever pass to the striker and superb finish for his goal.- 7

Started from advanced area from the engine room and not much to work with first half. Kept working and running before McLean took over in a swap - 6

SCOTT McTOMINAY

Headed great chance wide from Robertson corner and a flick over. Not out quickly enough to Peretz at opener. Lacked conviction with late shooting chance - 6

CALLUM MCGREGOR

Recalled to the middle of the park and early shot wide. Beavered around covering ground as well as winning second balls and picking neat passes - 6

ANDY ROBERTSON

Captain was penned back for long spells first half covering back to assist Tierney as Dasa progressed. Got forward more after break and diligent - 6

CHE ADAMS

Striker was strong and mobile with good touch. Shot blocked and inches from getting onto a Fraser through pass. Set up Fraser goal and strike saved - 7
