Kieran Tierney is set to make his first Arsenal start since December against Manchester City.
Boss Mikel Arteta has put his faith in the left-back as the Gunners' season recommences against the Premier League champions.
Tierney is yet to feature under the Spaniard having suffered a long-term shoulder injury against West Ham in late 2019.
He's also been linked with a move to Leicester City in recent weeks.
But the former Celtic star now looks to be very much at the forefront of Arteta's plans as he's pitched straight in for the Wednesday night clash at the Etihad.
It's the biggest Premier League occasion of the 22-year-old's short Arsenal career thus far and he's one of a number of younger stars looking to impress under the Spaniard's stewardship.
Earlier this week, Arteta urged his players to find the consistency that has, so far, stunted their season.
He added: “They have to keep developing and one of the biggest challenges is always consistency.
“They have been doing it for a certain period of time, for certain moments of certain games but to do it consistently for every three days for 94 or 96 minutes, that’s a different story.
“In order to do that and develop the right way, they need the right players next to them, with the right mentality, with the right qualities and with the right drive.
“That’s what we have to do, we have to give them the right foundations in order for them to feel free to develop, without the extra pressure that they don’t need in these moments and they cannot carry on.
“We don’t give them too much responsibility too early, because there is always a risk to burn them.”
