Kieran Tierney sends Celtic fans message from hospital as he comes through surgery

Kieran Tierney appears to have come through his double hernia op without any problems.

The Celtic full-back missed a large chunk of the treble Treble run-in including Saturday's Scottish Cup Final win over Hearts which cemented the historic achievement as he battled injury.

Tierney , 21, had delayed surgery in the hope of being able to play at Hampden.

But he failed in his brave bid to be fit and watched from the sidelines as the Hoops won 2-1 to complete another season on dominance.

The Scotland international, said to be a summer target for Arsenal, travelled to Munich after the match for surgery to fix his long-standing problem.

And going by his post on Instagram this evening it looks as though all is well.

His best pal Jamie Rankin travelled to Germany to be by his bedside and posted a pic showing Tierney holding rosary beads with the caption "operation canter for this man".

Tierney reposted the snap saying: "What a guy, always there" along with a green heart.

Celtic fans will be hoping the operation brings an end to the defender's injury woes which blighted his season for club and country.

He faces a spell of around six weeks out meaning he could miss the opening Champions League qualifiers.
