Kieran Tierney hailed a huge result for Scotland in Austria and says World Cup qualification is now firmly in our hands.
A 1-0 win in Vienna, courtesy of a Lyndon Dykes penalty following a VAR check, put the Scots second in Group F behind runaway leaders Denmark and they now have a huge opportunity to grasp that play-off spot.
Arsenal star Tierney, who hails from Muirhouse, won his 26th cap and put in another stellar showing for his country.
And he says it is a hugely important win in the scheme of the qualifying campaign, with third-place Israel - sitting just a point behind - up next at Hampden on October 9.
"It was a good result for us. I think we needed that for our confidence," said Tierney.
"We didn't start the week well with the result [in Denmark], but we've only lost one game in this group and it was to the top seeds.

"It was big for us [Dykes' penalty], we needed to score.
"It gave us the confidence that we could go on and do - and get the clean sheet as well.
"I think it's very important. It means second place is in our control now, it's in our hands, and we need to go out and win games.
"There's still a lot to do and there's still big games to come up.
"I'm sure the fans will come out [in their numbers].
"They'll create a great atmosphere and it's a game we are all buzzing for already."
Tierney was outstanding down the left and helped keep the likes of Bologna's Marko Arnautovic at bay in Vienna.

The 24-year-old added: "It was tough because I had a lot to do with their striker.
"He's big, he's physical and it was a tough task for me, but I tried to stick to it and put him off.
"They put a lot of crosses in on me as well. I think I was the target for them to look for, but I just tried my best and did what I could."
