Kieran Tierney's improvement at Arsenal and the huge claim to worry Andy Robertson and Liverpool

Kieran Tierney clearly thinks very highly of his Arsenal coaching staff.

The 23-year-old has impressed for the Gunners since his £24million move from Celtic in 2019, and on Wednesday night, he impressed for his country.

Tierney produced three assists to help Scotland record a 4-0 home win over Faroe Islands, and comments after the game show just how much credit the full-back gives Arsenal and their coaching staff for his impressive rise.

Scotland goalkeeper Craig Gordon told the Daily Record after the game of Tierney: "I thought he [Tierney] was incredible and he has taken his game on even further.

“He talks so highly of the Arsenal coaching staff and how they have helped develop him.

“For us, over the three games, he has been excellent, if not the standout in every single one. He has been magnificent and hopefully we can keep him fit and playing at this level.

“I think he is world class, I really do. He is so consistent as well and that is what makes him so good. He has been more consistent and tactically and technically he has improved, playing against better players week in week out. He has raised his level because of that.

“I have seen him come through from 17 to where he is now and he will only continue to get better.

“He is doing it in every game and he’s big for us on and off the park. He is also in charge of the music and he is great for the camp and a really valued member of the squad.”

Speaking after his fine performance against Faroe Islands, Tierney said: "I was not bad. I just tried my best as always,” Tierney said. "I had a bit more time to go forward tonight and I enjoyed it.

"Everybody knows I like being high and wide putting crosses in. That's my game. Tonight I did a lot of that. It was good tonight (with Andy Robertson).

"I think the manager wanted me to sit a bit more but I couldn't help myself at times!

"It's the perfect end to the camp. The boys will be happy with that as there was a bit more confidence about us as well. It was a good way to end it."

Tierney combined excellently with Liverpool Robertson during the Scotland win, but it's the latter who may have cause for concern going up against his in-form teammate ahead of Saturday's clash between Arsenal and Liverpool.
