Former Celtic defender Kieran Tierney had sleepless nights wondering if his Arsenal switch was the right choice.
The left-back moved for a record Parkhead sale of £25m in August as he made the move down south.
It's been a rocky start for Tierney since leaving Celtic after a hernia op that delayed his Gunners debut before a dislocated shoulder in December.
But the 22-year-old is happy to be at the English Premier League giants.
He said: "I had sleepless nights. It was a hard decision. I knew how big Arsenal were. They are a massive club in a massive league.
“It was obviously a great offer (from Arsenal), but I still had sleepless nights thinking, ‘What’s the best thing to do here?’. It went on for ages.
“The first bid came in and I then signed on deadline day. At the same time, I was just coming back from my injury.
“I was like, ‘Don’t even focus on what’s going to happen, just work hard and get fit, everything happens for a reason’.
“Arsenal are a massive, massive club and when I came I realised that."
Tierney was signed by former Emirates boss Unai Emery but he insists he's learnt a lot under the tutelage of Mikel Arteta.
The Scotland cap hasn't yet played a game under the Spaniard as his last match before his injury layoff came under interim boss Freddie Ljungberg.
But Tierney revealed the traits that Arteta has brought to Arsenal after serving as Pep Guardiola's assistant at Manchester City.
He said: “I’ve seen all his video meetings, I’ve been in the meetings together as a team.
“Before the games, after the games, and just his analysis is amazing.
“In Dubai for the winter break, I was doing some one-to-one work with him, and that’s when I realised ‘this is brilliant’.
“Just to me like, he knows what’s going to happen in a game and how it’s going to happen. What you should do, where you’re going to get pressed from and where your options should be.
“You should know where the left mid’s going to be, the centre-mid, so you can just play in sync. Everybody’s one brain and I think that’s perfect.”
