Arsenal club doctor Gary O'Driscoll has detailed Kieran Tierney's freak knee injury as he collapsed coming out of the shower.
The former Celtic full-back was forced onto the sidelines for a large chunk of games at the end of last season for the Gunners while he was also had to watch on as Scotland faced Ukraine in a crucial World Cup qualifier - losing out at Hampden.
Tierney has always been known for his strong tackle and rampaging displays up and down the left side of the pitch and with that nature and character, it was highly unsurprising that he continued playing despite suffering the injury against Wolves on February 24. He continued to play in the games that followed until one day after training he walked out of the shower and that was when the injury became apparent.
Speaking in Arsenal : All Or Nothing, O'Driscoll explained: "The Wolves game, he had a hyper-extension injury, finished the game, didn't mention it, and then played the next five games with no problems whatsoever.

"But he then walked out of the shower on Thursday after training, turned a corner, bent his knee, and felt the knee collapse."
Celtic sold Tierney to Arsenal back in 2019 for a whopping £25million fee - but the full-back has suffered a number of niggling injuries since making the move south of the border.
He has been limited to two substitute appearances in the Gunners' opening Premier League games with Crystal Palace and Leicester City with big summer signing Oleksandr Zinchenko getting the nod.
He joined from champions Manchester City alongside Gabriel Jesus with both players making instant impacts for Mikael Arteta's side.
He's made 89 appearances to date at the Emirates with four goals and 12 assists to his name.
