Kieran Tierney rewarded for brilliant Arsenal form as Scotland star handed bumper deal to fend off transfer suitors

Scotland star Kieran Tierney is set to be handed a massive new contract having impressed since signing for Arsenal.

The left-back moved to London from Celtic in the summer of 2019 and quickly became a key man in the English Premier League.

The Athletic report that the 24-year-old will pen a five-year contract and commit his long-term future to the Gunners.

It is noted that he will earn around £110,000 per week as part of the deal.

Tierney joined the Gunners from Celtic for £25million and despite an injury-hit start to his career south of the border, he put the problems behind him.

He has proven he can mix it with the best for club making 38 appearances for Mikel Arteta's side in all competitions last campaign

Some pundits had tipped the defender to leave his current side following Arsenal 's struggles last term, with Manchester City and Real Madrid named as suitors.

Ahead of his return to Steve Clarke 's side for the crunch game at Wembley tonight and his first appearance of UEFA Euro 2020, Arsenal appear to have acted quickly to quell any interest.
