Kieran Tierney reveals his post-Celtic homesick blues as Arsenal star makes London confession

Former Celtic star Kieran Tierney has opened up on battle to adapt to life in London since joining Arsenal.

The left-back departed his boyhood club in a record £25million deal this summer and has had to bide his time after recovering from double hernia surgery.

And Tierney has delivered an honest assessment of his time in England so far and admitted it's not been easy for him without being surrounded by friends of family.

But the state of flux isn't affecting him on the pitch as the Scotland international earned rave reviews for his display in the Gunners 4-0 Europa League win over Standard Liege.

The 22-year-old admitted he hasn't even ventured into the London city centre since his switch from Celtic to the Gunners.

He told the Daily Mail: "'Coming to London has been a huge change for me.

"I'm a home boy who has always stayed with my parents and now I've come to a new country and a massive city.

"I'm living on my own for the first time and it's not been great. I need to cook every night and I'm still learning how to do that. But I'll get there.

"People back home ask me 'what's London like?' But I have no idea because I've never been into the city.

"I train, I work hard, I go home to recover and I train the next day. It's just a simple life and I put everything into football.

"Signing for Arsenal was the hardest decision of my life, leaving the club I had been at for 15 years of my life."

Tierney has impressed in his first two appearances in an Arsenal shirt. He made his debut in the 5-0 win over Nottingham Forest last week in the Carabao Cup, before starring in a 4-0 win against Liege.
