Kieran Tierney 'oozes quality' after outstanding display gushes Arsenal legend

Former England an Arsenal defender has waxed lyrical about Kieran Tierney after his performance in the Europa League last night.

The former Celtic defender completed his first 90 minutes for the Gunners as they ran over the top of Belgian side Standard Liege in a 4-0 thumping.

Goals from Joe Willock, Dani Ceballos and a double from Gabriel Martinelli sealed the rout.

But it was Tierney that many felt stole the show with a rampaging attacking performance down the left flank.

Legendary Arsenal defender Martin Keown was amongst those taken with the young Scot and he has predicted Sead Kolasinac has a problem on his hands in retaining his shirt.

Speaking on BT Sport, he said: "When I was a young player I was told when you come in you have to make your mark, there’s no time to lose and he [ Tierney ] made good use tonight of that opportunity, bursting down that left-hand side.’

"Look how high up the pitch he was, he’s saying “give it to me and I’ll deliver”.

"He’s really positive in everything he does, he wants to go at people. The quality is there, he’s oozing quality. Kolasinac is under pressure, there’s no doubt about it.

"I was really pleased with him tonight, it looks as if he’s a wonderful signing.

"He can be happy with his night’s work."
